Rock Your Life By Doing Stuff + Adding Value

So I know the last few posts have been affiliate promotions, and even though I did my best to make them valuable to you (and I firmly believe in the products) I wanted to spit some straight value today. It’s a quick 5 minute video on doing stuff and adding value to your market.

Over the last few weeks our team has been doing just this and I can honestly say there is a 360 degree of difference in our business and really in our own lives and the lives of others. It all stems from stopping the “talk the talk” mentality and actually “walking the walk.”

Peep the video and holler back in the comments:

So, let’s start a nice “cypher” in the comments.

What are you doing this week that would constitute as “doing stuff” to enhance your business or your lifestyle or what “value stuff” are you providing to others that enhance their business or lives?

My answer: I have written 3 guest posts and shot 3 more videos for other people’s sites, to give value for their readers. I have a nice covert operation to have an amazing St. Patty’s Day with the misses (also happens to be our anniversary) and we’ll close off by picking up the scary phone and learning about more music startups than I knew existed just to hear their models and give some advice.

Your Turn!

-Greg

Thats awesome Greg. I think demonstrating value is an important concept to understand. People follow people if there is something in it for them and there is nothing wrong with that. It creates a growing relationship and you contribute to a persons personal development.

Thanks Tony - Value really is the cornerstone of all businesses right now. Money is tight, but we will still spend if there is value in the relationship AND the product/service.

It’s like Covey says, every time you do something good for others you put a deposit into the emotional bank account of your relationship. Over time you’ll have a lot to draw from. Great post!

Hey Greg,
Great points here. I think one of the best things ever is to give first. Give first without wondering what you are going to get in return, and it will come back in ways you can’t even imagine. I also am a fan of taking action. Sometimes we get stuck *me especially!* in trying to create a “master plan” where everything makes sense, and then we take action later.

I’m learning more and more to start the action first, and the master plan will develop itself along the way. Often I’ve wasted time in over-planning, and the path has changed course to something else anyway. You can’t really plan for everything, but you can always Just Show Up and Do What’s Right In Front of You.

If you can do that, you are doing more than most people. Cheers for the inspiration, like the video :).

Spot on Brooke. You don’t always need a master plan, sometimes you just need to do because you have that feeling or even that you just want to get things started. There is a time for getting everything together but sometimes you just need to jump off the bridge and worry about how to get back up later.

Yeah Greg, I found that just going into a blog and asking for stuff is a good way to get ignored and waste all of your efforts. I made that mistake in the beginning, and I know a TON of other people have too.

If your goal is me me me, than they are thinking no no no!
