4 Things I F’d Up In The Past 6 Months
So it’s July 1st. Half-way through another amazing year.
Are you where you want to be in your life? your business?
I’m not. It may appear that I have a ton of stuff going on and going in the right direction and I do. Shoot, we got Diddy to ReTweet one of my guest posts last week (Work Your Online Business Like Diddy).
Anyway, here is a video that goes over 4 things that I want to correct in my business this year and I think you can use to help get yours in the right place. Have fun and check it out.
If you are in the US, have a happy and safe 4th of July.
In the comments I’d love to hear some of the things you wish had gone better in your business thus far this year, AND what you are doing to ensure you get it right.

Great video man, thanks for sharing this. All lessons that I will remember. The fitness one is really resonating with me right now, I gotta get my shit together haha. Not necessarily because I have some excess weight but I just want to feel better. I think the junk food and Red Bull are getting to me finally.
Anyway, good stuff. Have a great weekend!
Thanks Nate! One of the biggest changes I have been able to make it to get rid of the fizzy shit - Monster Energy Drinks, Arizona Ice Teas and soda. It makes an unbelievable impact on your health almost immediately. Good luck bro.
I agree with your thoughts on sales funnel and product pricing. Our major “win” over the last few months has been to stop working on small-margin affiliate deals and look for bigger profit margins for our own products and from our affiliate partners. You do similar amounts of work to make a $1 sale or a $20 sale. I’m told this also scales for $200 sales if you have the right audience/product mix.
Totally agree Craig. This is big for people creating products too - you dont want to reward your affiliates by giving them $1 commissions. If you spend all your energy promoting a $2k course and sell 2-3, you make 10x that of selling 100 $10 courses.
Nice work man!
I like the video and thanks for the compliment on my yoga/pilates retreat! Florida and working out….I hear you! The more energy you have the better your business becomes. Muay Thai rocks! I had a little taste in Thailand. Movement is essential. Humans were meant to move. I couldn’t exist without several dance, pilates, yoga classes or just going out for a night on the dance floor. Teaching movement all day doesn’t help either. It makes you want to move even more. I’ve recently gone more and more raw with my diet which has skyrocketed my energy.
You are so right about bargain shoppers. I’m coaching virtually at the moment, but wanting to launch a cheap ebook or video series to bring in more virtual client base.
My failures have been in doing! I have so many ideas, but not the time to make them happen. I’m in that transition between working for myself and other people. Half is from me, half from gyms where I teach. It’s a hard scary mess, but I’m plugging away. Marketing has been my biggest problem. I just can’t seem to keep up with twitter, facebook and the like. I need a marketing/PR intern! Guest posting is huge and something I need to put more effort toward as well.
Those are my big issues at the moment. Thanks for sharing yours. I complete relate!
@Amber - The diet thing is tough for me to change, but thats a mental barrier I need to break.
Thanks for sharing some of your missteps. I think most entrepreneurs suffer from too many ideas and then implementation. I always tell people to do one thing awesome and then you can open doors to so many other things. It’s also something we need to get used to in delegation. An intern might be a great first step for that.
Good luck and have a great 4th weekend.
Hey,
Great video. A lot of people wish they had done things differently. The important thing is to learn you lesson from it and hopefully correct it. We are Conversation Media (a Founder Institute byproduct) and we’ve built a system for keeping track of these lessons because you can only improve on what you measure and we all want to make better decisions.
The site is very simple right now and we have a lot planned for it, but it solves the core purpose right now. Check it out, let us know what you think.

Thanks!
Great post, very informative. Keep up the good work, Thanks.
Hey Greg,
Kick ass video, thanks for sharing that stuff it’s helpful to hear. It’s good to keep your eyes on the stars and also good to give yourself credit for how far you have come if you don’t hit your goals. I didn’t hit mine either, but I progressed in ways I hadn’t expected so I guess it’s a wash. My big challenge has been lead generation. I want to get better at putting people through the process, but getting people into the funnel has proved to be the difficult part. My biggest F’up is that I play out 4 - 5 nights a week every week, I should have leads like crazy. I haven’t found a good way to incorporate e-mail gathering into my show, plus I’ve been lazy, and that’s my own stupid fault.

I think my 3 biggest mistakes are:
1)Physical Condition. Did well for 3 months, but sloughed off after that. Getting back to it now. And I 100% agree with you and Tony Robbins about your personal health and fitness having a bearing on your business/es
2)Not starting my lifestyle design path sooner.
3)Not doing more promotion of my first site earlier on. I launched a site in mid July (after getting canned from my job) and didn’t start the backlinking process in time. I’m applying that lesson to my other sites now.
Great Video to by the way!
Oh and almost forgot:
Screw you on the “under 30″ training! lol I’m only a couple years outside that window. Ok, couldn’t resist bustin your chops a little. Good luck man!
Really enjoyed your open and inclusive dialogue which is very refreshing.I am a 54 year old trying hard to get back into work(getting the interviews but not the job offer) here in the UK(background is selling solutions for working at height)and deciding whether to press on with the company I set up.
I wanted to say that I admire your enthuiasm and drive and wish you good luck with what your trying to achieve.
Inspirational stuff and maybe I will get away from just doing what I think Im only meant to do and change direction and be the creative person that is inside of me.
