MARKETING EXPERT GREG ROLLETT, CO-FOUNDER OF THE PRODUCTPROS, HELPS PEOPLE MAXIMIZE THEIR TIME AND ENJOY THEIR LIFE MORE BY “MONETIZING KNOWLEDGE AND INFORMATION”
Written By Jonathan Widran
Joining forces with fellow Orlando-based visionaries JW Dicks and Nick Nanton in launching the dynamic new marketing venture The ProductPros, Greg Rollett works with authors, experts, entertainers, entrepreneurs, doctors, lawyers, fitness professionals and business professionals all over the world to help them share their knowledge and change the lives and businesses of others.
Rollett, Nanton and Dicks have collectively marketed and sold over $1 billion in products and services for others. They have also created their own best selling products including books, software, DVD’s, home study courses, newsletters, membership sites, video courses and more to help their clients get the results they desire in their business.
Rollet’s road to becoming an expert in a field he calls “monetizing knowledge and information” began several years ago when he began successfully selling two odd items for a 20-something entrepreneur - hammocks and bird feeders. On the suggestion of his wife’s parents, Rollett attended an all day marketing seminar, where “everything clicked,” he got excited about a future in sales and bought every educational product he could to learn more about ecommerce.
His background as a musician came into play when he thought about the difference between the profit margin of a $10 CD, vs. that of a $200 hammock or bird feeder. Doing extensive research about the principles of online consumerism and the way Google ranks the most searched for products, Rollett was surprised to learn that a million people were looking for just the perfect hammock online. With the help of an online drop ship company, he started his hammock and bird feeder businesses, earning $20-40 dollars profit per sale.
With that generating a healthy income, Rollett went back to his music roots and created the music community Label 2.0. For $50 a month, subscribers had one on one access to Rollett and another industry coach, who offered live phone and online guidance and hooked artists up with their top level connections – including A&R directors, production managers, booking agents, and merchandising companies.
Rollett in essence became the indie musician’s best friend, launching the Wordpress theme Band WP Themes to help musicians create a quick and affordable website, and releasing his flagship product, the “New Music Economy Blueprint,” a $500 12-week home study course. Partnering with the company Under 30 CEO, he expanded into the business niche, creating the “Under 30 Rock Star Business Series,” a four week blueprint designed to help small businesses get started online and work on their branding.”
“As my businesses kept growing and expanding, I was invited to speak at different events in the Orlando area, and kept running into Nick Nanton, co-owner of the Celebrity Branding Agency, who spoke at many of the same events. We got together for lunch one day and, having learned about his multi-faceted business, I made a unique offer to him. I said, ‘You speak to people all the time about branding themselves as experts and taking their businesses to the next level. Why not make products out of your own conferences and tele-seminars?’
“My idea,” says Rollett, “was that he could package his knowledge and sell it to countless people so that he wouldn’t have to give the same speech over and over. He told me he had shot footage of his ‘7 Figure Webinar Secrets’ presentation, but never did anything with it. He agreed to let me take the video and break it down into a consumable product for his clients.”
Shortly thereafter, Nanton and his partner JW Dicks joined forces with Rollett to create an unstoppable force in opening the door to authors, experts, speakers, internet marketers and other industry leaders and professionals to create value driven products that they can sell 24/7 and scale their business to new heights.
The ProductPros ask a few simple questions of their prospective clients: “Are you spending too much one-on-one time with your clients and customers? Are you trading your time for money and never seem to have enough hours in the day to create your ideal income?”
Rollett and his partners believe that inside of everyone they work with, there is an “uprising” and desire to create, inspire and teach. To help and provide value to others – and be handsomely rewarded for it.
Their system was created to help clients make money based on their inherent value, not hours invested, and to achieve a rarefied level of freedom from their traditionally heavy schedules by creating products based on their knowledge and experience. These products can be sold on autopilot 24/7 from the client’s website, by affiliates and JV partners, or from distribution centers like Clickbank, eBay or Amazon.
“No matter how much the internet and social media has impacted our lifestyle, most business owners these days still work in brick and mortar locations,” says Rollett. “Here’s how we can help. Let’s say you’re a chiropractor making $100 an hour and working 12-hour days. But you want to spend more time with your family and kids. If you had a product out there that could, say, teach people four different ways to avoid back pain, four different ways to help people avoid injury – a video, audio, even an Action Guide – and sold that for $100, you could not only help people with your knowledge but also earn a few hundred extra dollars a day. Meaning if you chose, you could work two hours less.
“Likewise,” he adds, “coaches and consultants who find that many small business owners can’t afford their personal appearance fees could create a $500 audio/video/ebook course where those prospective clients could do the training online. If the business owner sees employee results having spent $500, they might be more inclined down the road to spend a lot more for the in person visit. We also help lawyers by creating lead generating products that are far superior to an old school brochure. They can share their expertise for prospective clients on how to build a better personal injury case, teaching them about such things as divorce law for men, even what to look for when it comes time to put elderly parents in nursing facilities. Our clients don’t always realize just how much they know that the average person doesn’t, and what people will pay for that knowledge.”
Rollett sees the real magic of ProductPros as the fact that he and his team do everything for their clients, from frameworking the presentation to recording the educational information and converting it into audio, video and written products. The staff at Product Pros composes an interview, creates an outline based on the client’s goals and the focus of their content, then does a 60-90 minute interview. “When the audio interview is over,” Rollett says, “the client is done. We take it from there!”
The team edits the audio and turns it into MP3 files, for which they create an illustrated Power Point-type slide presentation. This can be purchased and downloaded from a website onto a computer or streamed on an iPad or other device. The content of the phone interview can also be transcribed and edited into an ebook.
“To us, the most important part of the whole product is the Action Guide we create to supplement the shared information on the other media,” says Rollett. “We don’t just want people to listen to it and consume the knowledge. That won’t change their lives. Consumption is the first step but the opportunity to take specific actions takes people to a whole other psychological level. Besides offering content that can be purchased and downloaded/streamed on one’s computer or mobile device, the ProductPros can also create a physical version via CD/DVD or book. These can be sold at seminars or trade shows, and they can be sent to clients as well. Most people who live today’s busy e lifestyles prefer the instant gratification, but there’s always something exciting too about receiving a big box full of incredible stuff.
“My personal goal with ProductPros is to help people who are stuck spending every hour of the day working to find a way to leverage what they know to get time back in their life,” he adds. “If I can get that chiropractor to work eight hours a day instead of 12, and help others achieve similar goals while at the same time use their knowledge and experience to benefit countless others, that makes me happy. The ultimate aim is to ensure that people are rewarded for what they know and to get them to enjoy their life more than they ever dreamed possible.”
